Description
We are seeking qualified Relationship Management candidates that possess a unique combination of business development skills (sales, strategic analysis, marketing), legal, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) knowledge and expertise. The proficient Relationship Manager would then identify new business opportunities, create ADR-specific marketing strategies, generate leads, negotiate terms, secure new relationships and effectively manage a portfolio of clients in selected market verticals.

The ideal candidate would exhibit strong business acumen to understand the intricacies of building relationships and developing strategic business opportunities. To educate others of the benefits of utilizing dispute resolution alternatives, the candidate would have had formal dispute resolution training or direct exposure to such processes (mediation and/or arbitration). To understand the competitive landscape of various market verticals, strong research skills are needed. To be able to negotiate with other companies, the ideal candidate would possess excellent people and communication skills. And, of course, to secure mutually rewarding relationships, the ideal candidate would possess solutions-driven closing instincts.
Responsibilities
• Meet relationship building and revenue goals.
• Identify, cultivate, negotiate and secure dispute resolution business opportunities.
• Articulate our dispute resolution services approach and value proposition to instill confidence in our clients.
• Be viewed by the client as the credible and trusted advisor for implementing dispute resolution resources.
• Professionally generate and manage a pipeline of dispute resolution opportunities in select market verticals.
• Create and deliver sales and dispute resolution marketing presentations.
• Effectively position, craft and scope high value and high quality engagements.
• Network within the legal, dispute resolution and business communities.
• Participate in industry-wide business development events.
• Negotiate and secure retainer contracts.
• Manage on-going follow up with prospects and clients.
• Maintain ultimate responsibility for the success and customer satisfaction of your portfolio.
Core Competencies
• Basic proficiency in all dispute resolution processes and procedures (negotiation, mediation, arbitration, etc.) are required.
• Candidate must have some legal knowledge or dispute resolution expertise to be able to understand court processes and legal terminology when visiting with prospective clients. • Candidate must be able to establish marketing and strategic plans to become a trusted expert advisor.
• Candidate must have understanding of and experience in prospecting, presentations, and procurement processes.
• Candidate must possess client relationship skills to proactively determine clients’ needs and ensure overall client satisfaction, to secure repeat business.
• Candidate must be proactive, cordial and professional in servicing their portfolio of clients.
• Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of the proficiency, practice areas and practice preferences of the Agency’s mission and the ability to strategically secure retainer agreements.
• Candidate must be computer literate and possess proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. • Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong time management skills to succeed in a competitive selling environment.
• Candidate must professionally represent the Agency at various business, legal and dispute resolution venues.
Education/Experience
• A graduate degree in dispute resolution, conflict management, business administration (MBA) or a Juris Doctorate (JD), is preferred.
• Candidates must have 2+ years of successful sales, marketing, legal or dispute resolution experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and core competencies will be evaluated on an individual basis.
• Must be willing to travel.
