National Security Policy Advisor and Civil Rights Mediator, Ehsan Zaffar, joins the Agency for Dispute Resolution.

Beverly Hills, California - April 22nd, 2013.

Ehsan Zaffar, Esq. brings a rich legal background and wide-ranging expertise in peacemaking and conflict resolution to the panel. An attorney and consultant specializing in rule of law, civil rights and national security issues, Ehsan has worked to facilitate post-conflict and post-disaster conciliation among diverse communities, assisted in obtaining redress for ethnic, racial and religious minorities, and assessed national security policies on behalf of the federal government to ensure compliance with civil rights and civil liberties policies.

Ehsan has worked on legal and civil rights issues in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the South Asian earthquake, the earthquake in Haiti, and most recently during the BP oil spill, on behalf of the American Bar Association, the American Red Cross, Ashoka and CDRS. Ehsan teaches courses on national security, constitutional rights and privacy at George Mason University and is the author of a forthcoming textbook on national security and civil rights to be published in 2014. With his extensive knowledge in law and policy, Ehsan is passionate about resolution through creative problem solving and peacemaking.

Ehsan obtained his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law where he also earned his Certificate in Dispute in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute. A California native, he completed his undergraduate education at UCLA in psychology and political science.
